Built for LanguageCert, and nothing else
Most prep tools treat LanguageCert as a side product of their IELTS platform and mark it with the wrong rubric. You get a number, and no idea what it means. Proloquent exists to give you the other thing: an honest picture of where you actually stand, and what to fix next.
How the scoring works
A score is only useful if you know how it was produced. Ours isn’t a general-purpose chatbot guessing a band.
LanguageCert's own criteria
Writing and Speaking are marked against the four published assessment criteria for the exam, not IELTS bands relabelled. You get a score per criterion, so you can see which one is actually holding you back.
Mapped via the official Global Scale
Criterion scores are normalised to the 0–100 Global Scale and converted to CEFR using LanguageCert's published cut-offs, so a level here means what it means on a real result slip.
Deliberately marked harder
Our CEFR thresholds sit three to five points above the official ones. On a boundary we report the lower level: better that you over-prepare than walk in confident and miss by a mark.
What we won’t do
Test prep is a category with bad incentives. These are the ones we’ve deliberately turned down.
No leaked exam questions
Reproducing live questions is an exam-integrity and copyright violation. Every item is original, written to the official format, timing and difficulty.
No guaranteed grades
Nobody can promise you a band, and anyone who does is selling something. Our scores are indicative estimates for study, and every report says so.
No vanity metrics
No streaks, badges or points. Feedback either tells you what to change and why it raises your level, or it isn't worth showing you.
Independent, and clear about it
Proloquent is an independent preparation tool. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by PeopleCert or LanguageCert, and our results are not official LanguageCert results. We say that on every score report as well as here, because letting you assume otherwise would make the whole thing worthless. Read the full AI scoring disclaimer.
Who builds it
Proloquent is made by a small independent team, built out of watching capable candidates lose marks to exam technique rather than to their English. We read every message that reaches support, and the roadmap is shaped mostly by what people ask us for.
